ACADEMIC STAFF
FACULTY OF NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT AND AGRICULTURE
DEPARTMENT OF ANIMAL PRODUCTION AND HEALTH
Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Full Professor Animal Production (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master of Science degree in Animal Science or MSc in Dairy Science or a related field.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours degree in Animal Science or BSc in Livestock Production or a related field.
- A PhD in Animal Science or Dairy Science or a related field will be an added advantage.
- The incumbent should be able to teach the following modules:
- Dairy Production
- Animal Products Processing
- Beef, Sheep and Goat Production
- Any other Animal Production module assigned by the departmental board.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage.
- A record of scholarly contribution in at least one refereed journal will be an added advantage.
- Practical experience in dairy production, beef cattle production, or small ruminant production will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to teaching, research, curriculum development, innovation and industrialisation activities.
- Participate in community outreach activities.
- Participate in agriculture animal production income generating activities.
- Supervise students’ projects.
- Invigilate examinations.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the department or university administration.
Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Full Professor Biostatistics (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Master of Science (MSc) degree in Biostatistics or MSc in Biostatistics and Epidemiology or MSc in Biometry or MSc in Statistics or a related field.
- A Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours degree in Biostatistics or BSc (Hons) in Biostatistics and Epidemiology or a BSc (Hons) in Biometry or BSc (Hons) in Statistics or a related field.
- Alternatively, candidates may hold a BSc (Honours) in Animal Science or BSc in Livestock Sciences or BSc Animal Production and Health or related field as their first degree.
- A PhD in Biostatistics or Biostatistics and Epidemiology or Biometry or Statistics or Animal Science or a related field will be an added advantage.
- The incumbent should be able to teach the following modules:
- Introduction to Statistics
- Statistical Methods and Experimental Designs
- Research Methods
- Ability to apply statistical methodologies in animal production and health contexts is essential.
- Proficiency in one of the statistical software packages (SAS, R, STATA, SPSS, GENSTAT) is required.
- Experience in the design of animal and crop science experiments, handling of animal experimental data will be an added advantage.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level will be an added advantage.
- A record of scholarly contribution in at least one refereed journal will be an added advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Teaching Assistant – Animal Health (1 Post)
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) Degree or a Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree in Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Physiology, Animal Production and Health, Animal Health and Production Extension, or a related field.
- Alternatively, the candidate may hold a Diploma in Animal Production and Health or a Diploma in Veterinary Sciences, and a BSc (Hons) Degree in Animal Production and Health, Animal Science, Animal Science and Technology, Livestock Sciences, or a related field.
- The applicant must have a degree classification of at least 2.1.
- Applicants must be 30 years or below at the time of application.
- Successful applicants are expected to enrol in a relevant Master’s degree program within the first year of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist lecturers in delivering tutorials.
- Mark students’ assignments and tests.

Qualifications
- Applicants must have a BSc (Hons) Degree or equivalent in Surveying or Geomatics and Surveying with at least an upper second (2.1) degree classification.
- A Master’s Degree in Surveying or Geomatics and Surveying is required.
- A PhD qualification in Surveying or Geomatics and Surveying will be an added advantage.
- Teaching experience at a tertiary level will be an added advantage.
- The candidate should be able to teach any three of the following modules:
- Engineering Survey
- Land Law
- Rural and Spatial Planning
- Hydrographic Surveying

- Applicants should have graduated no more than two (2) years before the time of applying.
- Applicants should be 30 years old or below.

DEPARTMENT OF MINING ENGINEERING

Qualifications
- Applicants must have a BSc (Hons) Degree or equivalent in Mining Engineering with at least an upper second (2.1) degree classification.
- A Master’s Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.
- A PhD qualification in Mining Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Teaching experience at a tertiary level will be an added advantage.
- The candidate must be able to teach any three modules in the Department of Mining Engineering.

REGISTRAR’S DEPARTMENT
Assistant Registrar, Admissions and Student Records (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- The ideal applicants should possess five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Statistics, Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or Operations Research.
- At least two (2) years post-qualification experience in an Admissions or Statistics related field.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Assistant Registrar, Admissions and Student Records will be responsible for the following:
- Assist in the management of the University admissions systems, procedures, and processes.
- Assist in the management of student recruitment, admission, registration, and maintaining up-to-date records.
- Ensure the accuracy of student records and statistics.
- Design, distribute, and receive application forms in collaboration with the Senior Assistant Registrar.
- Assist in student recruitment advertisements.
- Assist in the management of the student database and generate reports as required.
- Perform secretariat duties to University committees.
Personal Assistant to the Registrar (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Office Management, Administration, or Human Resources and at least three (3) years of experience in the secretarial field; OR
- A Higher National Diploma in Office Management (HEXCO) and at least five (5) years of experience in the secretarial field; OR
- A National Diploma in Secretarial Studies (HEXCO) and at least seven (7) years of experience in the secretarial field.
- Five (5) Ordinary Level passes including English Language.
Qualities
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
- Able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organisational skills; able to plan, manage, and coordinate the Registrar’s diary.
